    I turned 40 this year and needed a new career after spending years in a place that I knew was not where I wanted to be. I applied for the role of a homecare worker at Anderby Care, I had never worked in care before.

    I knew I wanted to do something I love and comes natural to me, and to cut a long story short it is the best decision I have ever made. I love the job and it makes me feel like I am doing something for the community and helping someone who needs support.

    I have worked in a care home for the elderly for just over 10 years and I loved my time there, but I needed a change and to do something different. I knew I did not want to leave the care industry but did not want to stay in a care home setting, I decided to try homecare and chose to move to Anderby after hearing positive reviews.

    I have worked for Anderby Care for nearly 2 years and can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have made. In my previous job for the local council I felt it was more about the money than the clients we supported, and this made me want to leave working in care completely.

    I have worked at Anderby Care for 1 year now, after leaving my previous job of 11 years I was nervous at starting a new career in a different sector. After my first year I can say hand on heart that I made the right decision to move into Care, it is such a rewarding job knowing that we are helping others out there in the community.

    My line manager has really helped me to develop my skills and build new ones as an Admin Manager. Together we have streamlined many different aspects of the company’s regular processes to help better the company and the standard of care we provide.
