I turned 40 this year and needed a new career after spending years in a place that I knew was not where I wanted to be. I applied for the role of a homecare worker at Anderby Care, I had never worked in care before.

I knew I wanted to do something I love and comes natural to me, and to cut a long story short it is the best decision I have ever made. I love the job and it makes me feel like I am doing something for the community and helping someone who needs support.

This job is so rewarding, just putting a smile on someone’s face is the best feeling ever!

All the staff at Anderby are fantastic, they are so easy to talk too and you are always welcome in the office for a chat. It is like going from one home to another. The office team are always there to listen and to support me and are so much fun to be around.

I have worked at Anderby Care for 1 year now, after leaving my previous job of 11 years I was nervous at starting a new career in a different sector. After my first year I can say hand on heart that I made the right decision to move into Care, it is such a rewarding job knowing that we are helping others out there in the community.
